For those who have followed my work over the years, you know my journey has been shaped by the ocean. From photographing Hawaiian green sea turtles, dolphins, sharks, waves, and marine life in Hawaii to capturing wildlife, landscapes, and wild places around the world, photography has always been my way of sharing a deeper connection with nature.

What began in the waters of Hawaii eventually grew into something much larger.

Over the years, my camera has taken me from the islands of Hawaii to Alaska, Africa, the Eastern Sierra, the deserts of the American Southwest, Iceland, Tahiti, Mexico, and countless other places where nature reveals something extraordinary. Every destination has added a new chapter to the story.

Gallery Santa Barbara gives me a place to share that story in a way I have always imagined.

A New Fine Art Photography Gallery on State Street

Gallery Santa Barbara is a new fine art photography gallery located on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara. The gallery features photography by myself and my good friend and business partner, Nolan Nitschke.

Nolan's work brings an incredible perspective from the mountains, forests, deserts, storms, Yosemite, Mammoth Lakes, and the Eastern Sierra. His photography captures the power, scale, and beauty of the American West in a way that continues to inspire me.

My own work focuses on the ocean, Hawaii, sea turtles, marine life, wildlife, waves, and the natural world both above and below the surface. Much of my photography is centered around patience, connection, and those fleeting moments when nature reveals something special.

Together, the gallery feels like a natural balance.

Santa Barbara sits between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains, and in many ways, Gallery Santa Barbara was built around that same feeling.

A Gallery Built Around Nature

One of the things I love most about photography is its ability to transport us.

A single image can bring back a memory, create a feeling of peace, or remind us of a place that changed us. Whether it is a sea turtle gliding through crystal-clear Hawaiian water, a wave illuminated by sunset light, an elephant crossing the African plains, or a mountain glowing during an Eastern Sierra sunrise, the goal is always the same.

To create a photograph that tells a story.

A photo is only as compelling as the story it tells.

That philosophy has guided my work from the beginning and continues to inspire every image hanging in the gallery today.

Gallery Santa Barbara features metal, acrylic, canvas, and paper fine art prints created using archival materials designed for long term preservation.

Some pieces are large statement works that can completely transform a room. Others are smaller, more intimate photographs that allow someone to bring home a personal connection to a favorite place or experience.

One of the most rewarding parts of this work is seeing what happens when a photograph leaves the screen and becomes a print.

The depth, color, detail, and presence of an image take on a completely different life when displayed at the proper size and on the right medium. A photograph that may have looked beautiful on a phone or computer suddenly becomes something immersive and meaningful.

That experience is one of the reasons galleries still matter.

Soft Open Now, Grand Opening Coming Soon

Gallery Santa Barbara is currently soft open, which means the doors are open and visitors are welcome to stop in.

We are still refining displays, adding new artwork, and putting the finishing touches on the space. The official grand opening will be announced soon, and we look forward to celebrating with collectors, friends, locals, visitors, and everyone who has helped support this new adventure.

For now, we are simply grateful.

After months of planning, designing, printing, moving, building, and preparing, it is incredibly rewarding to finally welcome people through the doors.
